Colston Hall is excited to welcome legendary guitarist, composer and producer Paco Peña, who will perform his amazing work ‘Quimeras’ on Wednesday 31st October, which will explore the lure of travel and the dream of a better life.
The hugely anticipated dance performance is directed by Southbank Centre’s Artistic Director, Jude Kelly and will tell the story of a group of migrants who have come to Spain from Africa in search of work. Peña draws on his own experience of living in Andalusia which results in the stunning marriage of both traditional Spanish and African music and dance, creating a spectacle of intimately beautiful storytelling and genius performances.
Paco Pena’s career spans more than four decades and he has continued to be inspired by contemporary culture to influence the rich traditions of the flamenco art form. ‘Quimeras’ was described as ‘breathtakingly beautiful’ by The Daily Telegraph after its world premier two years ago.
Paco Peña performs at Colston Hall on Wednesday 31st October at 7.30pm. Tickets are available now from Colston Hall’s Box Office on 0117 922 3686 or online at www.colstonhall.org.
