GET IN THE FESTIVE MOOD WITH COLSTON HALL’S CHRISTMAS CRACKER
Colston Hall is getting in the festive spirit with tickets going on sale for its family Christmas show. Children will be captivated by two timeless classics, ‘The Snowman’ and ‘Peter and The Wolf’ on Tuesday 18th December, narrated by award winning comedian Tamsin Greig and accompanied by music from the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera.
The enchanting show starts from 6:30pm with ‘The Snowman’ played on a big screen and the full orchestra injecting musical magic into the popular and well-known, ‘Walking in the Air’, the soundtrack to every child’s Christmas. After the interval, Tasmin Greig will narrate ‘Peter and the Wolf’, helping to draw children into the fairy-tale world created by Prokofiev’s captivating score. This charming tale of courage and compassion is full to the brim with dancing strings, quacking oboes, fluttering flutes and prowling horns.
Greig is well known for her roles in the popular comedy TV Green Wing and Episodes and she has won many awards for her work, such as the Laurence Olivier award for ‘Best Actress’. Working alongside Greig is the talented Orchestra of Welsh National Opera’s conductor, Benjamin Wallfisch who has been described as a rare talent, and is sure to lift the narration with his distinctive style. The show is perfect for the family festive season and not to be missed.
