Preview: Brisfest 2011, 23rd – 25th September

Brisfest is back and it is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

Brisfest will see Bristol’s city centre transformed into a dazzling smorgasbord of creative goodies from around the region. Bands, DJs, artists, comedy, circus, cabaret, light installations, fire displays, boat parties, crazy golf and so much more… whatever your cultural cup of tea, BrisFest has it covered!

BrisFest is a cutting edge showcase of creative talent, bringing you the best of local plus big name artists for an almighty send off to the summer. It’s a three day urban spectacular that brings the excitement of a countryside festival to the heart of the city.

The main outdoor hub of BrisFest activities including live stages, festival tents, food stalls, art installations, light shows, dance classes, street theatre, kids areas and more will be held in Lloyd’s Amphitheatre in the city centre, followed by an colossal afterparty spread throughout 10 nightclubs across the centre; Rave on Avon!

The World’s Best Portable Crazy Golf Course is heading home for Brisfest after a national tour.

Kids Area
11am – 6pm Saturday/Sunday with a Playground, Arts and Crafts Workshops, Dance Classes and Children’s Entertainers and Games.

The Grass is Back!!!
We’re turfing in fresh green grass for those of you who just want to sit out and relax in the sun.

Fairground Rides
From High Spinners to Bumper Cars; head down to Millennium Square and Anchor Square for high flying fun.

Crazy Street Theatre and Costume Walkabouts
From stilt walkers to jugglers and hula hoopers and fire shows. Performing purely for your entertainment and their own enjoyment across the city centre.

Stand Up Comedy
Friday/Saturday night on the Gryphon Stage, the best local stand up talent around takes to the stage, programmed by the legendary Mark Oliver!

OxJam Stage
Great local talent will take to the stage in the name of Oxfam to help raise funds.

Circus, Cabaret and Burlesque
Friday/Saturday at 10pm various exciting acts hijack the Access to Music tent for 2 hours for a range of saucy and thrilling performances.

Music Industry Talks
Saturday/Sunday between 11am and 3pm, free music industry talks and demo panel sessions where you can bring your tunes for professional feedback.

Music and Art Workshops
Saturday/Sunday 11am – 3pm free workshops for all ages in everything from harmonica playing to pinhole photography and life drawing.

Dance Classes
Saturday/Sunday 11am – 3pm free Salsa to HipHop, dance classes for everyone of any taste.

RFID Dome
360 degree visuals and dance music all weekend and an afterhours silent rave with 2 channels of DJs.

Interactive Art Installations
After dark the whole festival site will come alive with interactive projections.

Street Art
the entire site decorated by over 35 of regions top and internationally renowned graffiti artists.

Food Court
Delicious meals from local and world food vendors.

Bars
Affordable bars with great ranges as well as a Sailor Jerrys bar with chill out DJs and a Pimms bar.

Raves on the Waves
Boat Parties on board the Tower Belle for various different trips depending on your taste.

Fancy Dress: Lost in the Bermuda Triangle

Underground afterparty on the Friday night in a secret venue.

Saturday Multi-club Takeover night
where your wristband gets you entry into 10 clubs including The Croft, Blue Mountain, Start the Bus, Timbuk2, Basement 45, Mr Wolfs, Arc Bar and more.
