One of the UK’s most exciting new prospects – Stephanie Fraser is set to release her stunning EP ‘Walking Woman’ through Island Records on December 2nd. This will follow an extensive tour of the UK as part of the Coffee House Sessions initiative starting on November 11th.
Aged just 21, Stephanie has a songwriting ability beyond her years. After growing up in Blackpool she left home to continue her studies and was snapped up by Island records whilst at music college. Now focussing all her energies on music, the lead track ‘Walking Woman’ describes uprooting from her previous home in the North and making a new base in London.
Stephanie explains: “I’d learnt all I could from college and was desperate to get out and focus on my music so when Island came along I was ready to leave and take that next step. I can’t wait to get out on the road and play to students in Uni’s all around the country. And drink loads of coffee too!”
‘Trying To Resist’ also features on the EP and is currently available as a free download from Stephanie’s official website – www.stephaniefraser.co.uk Written at the tender age of 17, her glistening vocals slide across a simple melody demonstrating her undeniable natural talent.
Curated by Huw Stephens from Radio 1, the Student Coffee House Sessions bring the hottest in upcoming UK music talent to universities around the country. This November Stephanie will visit 20 universities over two weeks ranging the length and breadth of the country, from St Andrews to Surrey. Full tour dates below.
Stephanie has been performing all her life and at the age of just 14 she played in front of 20,000 people at the Blackpool Illuminations Switch On. She has continued to earn her stripes on the live circuit with her own shows and recently supported Josh Record on a UK tour.
