Za Za Bazaar coming to Bristol’s Harbourside

Za Za Bazaar, a remarkable new banquet restaurant is set to open on Bristol Harbourside in the autumn – and with over 700 covers it will be the biggest in the region.

Za Za Bazaar is the first in a groundbreaking national brand concept offering diners a rich variety of global cuisine at a fixed price.

Adventure and live cooking are at the heart of the restaurant concept, which will set cuisine from India, China, Japan, the Far East, South America and Europe against vivid backdrops, reflecting the cultures from which it originates.

The new restaurant is designed to offer ‘something for everyone’ with dishes that will appeal to the whole family. There will always be a guest cuisine and something from every corner of the world for diners to sample and enjoy.  Za Za Bazaar is expected to appeal to the widest cross section of local people.

A £3million development programme is already underway to create the new restaurant, which is located on the waterfront in the former Baja nightclub site adjacent to Pitcher and Piano. It is anticipated to be completed at the beginning of December, ensuring that Za Za Bazaar presents an exciting new alternative for Christmas parties.

The driving force behind the new concept is Nitin Bhatnagar, a celebrated international chef. He explains his plans: “This restaurant is a dream for me. Created with passion, our food will be sensational. Our dishes will be made from good quality ingredients and cooked fresh in front of our guests.

“We are bringing together 35 gifted, specialist chefs, who will be the powerhouse driving Za Za Bazaar.  The restaurant will be a wonderful place to experience – bringing the colour, texture, designs and variety from the wide range of nations celebrated through their cuisine.

“And when it opens – I promise Bristol the party of the year – we are planning it already!”

John Hirst, Operations Director, Destination Bristol said: “This is a major development for Bristol’s leisure sector. At a crucial time, this new restaurant will bring much needed jobs. Getting the first in this remarkable new concept is a great coup for Bristol. It reflects that this is a happening city – that is setting trends nationally. We are absolutely delighted.”

Zoe Sear, Bristol Harbourside Manager said: “This restaurant is just what Harbourside needs – it will bring colour, energy and appeal for a huge range of people. Families, young people and discerning diners will all flock to the Harbourside – adding yet another world-class attraction to this wonderful place.”
