Bristol’s M Shed is an exciting and innovative new museum that tells the story of the city and the people that make it great. Located on the historic dockside, Bristol’s flagship museum has been designed to retain the character of the former 1950s transit shed, whilst incorporating modern design, provides a stunning location.
The evening’s event was sponsored by Land Rover primarily focusing on the newly launched Range Rover Evoque. Shining examples are dramatically displayed outside the venue between the dockside cranes. In person, the new 5 door and 3 door coupe models look fantastic although this car is more than just about the looks, It is the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever, using advanced technology to deliver sporty performance together with the lowest fuel consumption of any Range Rover to date.
The main event is located on the top floor exhibition space of the museum opposite the current Martin Parr exhibition, the DJ sound tracked show alternates between female and male models with 11 titled scenes showcasing a fabulous and diverse array of what we have to look forward to from Harvey Nichols this Autumn / Winter 2011. Featuring heavy representation from Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Dsquared2 and a fantastic envy inducing collection of Christian Louboutin shoes. Picking out highlights was quite the task, however I did fall a little bit in love with the Sam Edelman suede studded pumps in both pink and black.
As the last model left the catwalk, an invite was extended to visit the Harvey Nichols store for canapés and a chance to explore in person what had moments ago been displayed.
Events like this highlight why Harvey Nichols is and remains to be the first choice for the must have designer looks for the coming season, now I can’t wait Spring / Summer 2012
